One to watch: Kirsten Goss Jewellery
After moving to London when she had finished studying for a four-year jewellery design degree in South Africa, Kirsten Goss found herself in a wonderful position. Falling to positions with high profile fashion and jewellery names, she gained the experience she needed in order to launch her own company in 2002. Now, in 2014, Kirsten has her own store in Kensington, London; and she designs exclusive, elegant jewellery, which is sold all over the globe.
February sees her incredible work being brought into the spotlight once again. The launch of a brand new collection titled Arcade, being welcomed into the fashion world with a three-minute video to mark its arrival. The video illustrates a neo-deco-inspired collection, featuring semi-precious stones in vivid colours, bib style necklaces, cocktail rings and oversized cuffs. Taking a twist on designs featured on her website, the pieces are somewhat “tougher”, taking away a gentle beauty of her designs and touching them up with a darker, rough edge.
The video, which lacks in any colour with exception to the jewels she has chosen to use, portrays pools of black water, smashing of glasses and women firing guns to demonstrate a more ruthless edge to the collection.
A true sense of rebellion is felt from each of the pieces and we absolutely love it. Perfect to team with an LBD or with a leather jacket for a more daring look, Kirsten is definitely one to keep on your jewellery radar.
