Sarah Carolyn: keeping it in the family
When your parents work in the jewellery business, you’re clearly going to know a lot about the industry. Surely it would be wrong not to follow in their footsteps?
Sarah Carolyn did just that. Her parents are Bill and Elizabeth Campbell, proprietors of the acclaimed McCaskill & Company. Over the years Sarah accompanied her parents to numerous jewellery shows and was particularly helpful in selecting the more fashion-orientated collections. Upon completion of her Business Hospitality degree at Florida State University, she made the bold decision to form her own business. She has coupled her passion for fashion jewellery and accessories with her entrepreneurial spirit in the creation of Sarah Carolyn. “I was inspired to create a fashion designer jewellery boutique, because I felt like there was a niche that needed to be filled in our area for quality, moderately priced jewellery, and I have always loved fashion jewellery.”
Carolyn has travelled across the country in search of unique jewellery designers and has hand-selected each piece for her fashion, jewellery and accessories store. “It is important that each designer is different and unique in their own way.”
There are some beautiful pieces on the website. This Flores Sunburst Skinny Cuff by Anna Beck appears to have eastern influences behind it. This Leaf Me Alone bracelet by Claudia Lobao is gorgeous. If you love fine detail, then you will love these pearl and crystal earrings by Jamie Kole. For statement ring lovers, this Chalcedony & Tanzanite CZ ring by Lilly Barrack will have you drooling.
These are just a selection of the designers from Sarah’s site. They all offer something truly unique but have a “natural” quality to them as well. Some of the designers use precious stones; some use metal and some combine both. You won’t find anything bling bling on the website.
