Salvei & Sean: More than just a bag
Salvei & Sean strive to produce more than just a bag, but a frame of mind. When the world seems to be going against you, your bag can empower you, reminding you of what you came here for. And also they look pretty…
After Tina Cain’s experience in designing for more than 15 years, she officially opened the business in 2012, with a re-launch in 2013 while she was going through hard times, but it made her all the more ambitious to establish the company. Now, the online store brings a new taste to the scene, with “interesting, quirky and collectable printed leather goods”, all with a free new mindset.
The name also represents more than it may seem to, with the two words (pronounced “salvey and shorn”) meaning different things in different languages, and also symbolise the “make it happen” attitude. With a name that’s effectively international, you would expect that of their company. However, all of the bags are made, printed and produced in the UK, extremely covetable in a brand.
All of their designs are 100% original and their prints will never been seen anywhere else, along with this is their lack of constraints of seasons, following their minds instead of the weather, all creating the eclectic boutique feel. In addition, if you’re a firm you can contact and commission them to design something to your fancy. Now that’s cutting edge.
All of the bags are either made from individual pieces of Salvei & Sean designer leather or canvas instead of being chopped out of a continuous roll of fabric. Also, they adorn their leather products with colour using an “innovative, permanent and revolutionary printing process”, so the pattern won’t rub off. They even have an exclusive range coming for male shoppers in late 2014, so watch this space.
The bags are large enough to be a day bag, precisely fitting in your phone, purse, gum, lipstick, etc. but can also be used as clutch bags for an evening, and also have a clutch range. Their vibrant designs give them an exclusive “you can’t sit with us” feel, adding to the luxe appeal. Along with the confidence you’ll get from flashing your bag, it will always remind you of your inner strength, getting you through anything because you can “make it happen”. Think of it as “bag yoga”.
So in the words of Salvei & Sean, “it’s OK to be different”.
