L’Wren Scott’s death: A great loss for the fashion world

Fashion designer L’Wren Scott has been found dead by her assistant at her New York apartment today. The news of the 47-year-old fashion icon’s death shocked the world and an official investigation into the situation is soon to commence, with the notes of sorrow already beginning.

Sir Mick Jagger, currently on tour in Australia, stated he was “completely shocked and devastated” by the news of his long term girlfriend’s death, along with Marc Jacobs posting “Rest in peace, L’Wren Scott. You’ll forever be missed” on Twitter.

Scott began her career as a model in Paris, then moved to Los Angeles to become a fashion stylist to then establish her own fashion label in 2006. She cancelled her show in the AW14 show earlier this year, with it being reported that she had “key pieces unready for the show”.

Her style was passionate and colourful and she clearly had a talent for style, with her last show for LFW in SS14 displaying a projected trend of thick belts, which are becoming a key piece for accessorising. Her vast career within the fashion industry is that of a business woman, always with devotion to whom and what she loves, bringing inspiration to others that desire such a successful path.

We are sure that this gap in the industry will be hard to fill, and never be forgotten.
