Press day: Pop PR shows promising beauty for A/W 2014
Fashion PR giants Pop PR showcased their clients’ A/W 2014 lines today, ensuring that men and women will be looking absolutely fantastic this autumn and winter. Here are a few of The Upcoming’s favourites:
Jewellery creators Pyrrha’s incredible back story of finding a dusty old box of badly damaged 19th-century wax seals, then creating by hand historic replicas of beautiful jewellery is just the beginning of the pair’s designs. Stunning and rich in symbolism, all the jewellery is handcrafted from reclaimed silver or bronze using the traditional method of lost wax casting. Any Game of Thrones fan would adore every piece!
Chic Freak keeps to the PVC look and still creates fun and flirty macs, with the main aim for A/W 2014 being to create a modern college girl’s version of the look from the 1974 film The Night Porter, and has achieved this through an injection of fun thanks to the film St Trinian’s. The clever designs keep the PVC out of the fetish category and instead makes it adventurous, with firm favourites of many stars like Lily Allen and Kylie Minogue.
Dioralop’s (Polaroid spelt backwards) collections are inspired by Polaroid pictures, which were created through intentional spills of chemicals and their exposure to different temperatures. Their A/W 2014 collection is no different, using innovative shapes and panels on dresses, jackets, two-pieces and wide-legged trousers; the prints are to die for and mainly use black or white backgrounds with blue Polaroid prints. Gorgeous and very clever.
Luca Michele, the Italian-born brothers who reside in London, have created a vivid and stunning line, using bright yellows, turquoise and pinks, then panelling them with sharp black shapes. It will definitely brighten up any rainy winter day!
Mega name and eccentric genius Sorapol has done it again and created some magnificent pieces! Sorapol is the London atelier of Bangkok-born design prodigy Sorapol Chawaphatnakul and British artist Daniel Lismore who together collide in an artistry prowess. From a gold mesh all-in-one dress with out-of-this-world sleeves, to phenomenal length burgundy skirts, every piece was as to be expected – breathtaking.
Ivana Pilja’s wacky shapes have been brought into her A/W 2014 collection, made from black matt gems; the shapes are huge and as zany as ever. That level of genius needs to been seen to be believed. Astounding.
Fashion designer, stylist and art director Francesca Marotta has taken inspiration from an entirely new muse – the Amish. Clothes made from linen and other beautiful fabrics, simple designs and classic patterns, the line is magnificent. The talented lady even designed a kooky version of the Amish prayer hats, which works incredibly well! It’s a crazy collection that still sits in the fashion world. Only a true fashion designer could pull it off.
Among these fascinating collections there were many more equally amazing ones. Pop PR is a true force in the fashion world, only representing the absolute talented and aesthetically beautiful. Wonderful staff housed all of the quirky, fun, classic and clever designs, and winter really is looking beautiful.
