Ellie Goulding: Ambassador of British Designers’ Collective opens store at Bicester Village
The highly anticipated British Designers’ Collective at Bicester Village returned for its fifth year on 21st May, featuring a stream of renowned designers. In collaboration with the British Fashion Council, the Oxfordshire shopping outlet is also showcasing the talent of emerging UK designers, as well as artists from The Royal Academy of Arts.
Currently on tour promoting her latest album, Halycon Days, self-confessed fashion lover and ambassador Ellie Goulding opened the British Designers’ Collective last week.
Emerging labels have the opportunity to market their pieces alongside internationally acclaimed luxury brands, such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Prada and Mary Katrantzou. Guests will have the chance to discover must-have pieces from some of the most exciting up-and-coming names in British fashion, a stellar line-up of designers curated by brand advisor and retail consultant Yasmin Sewell.
This year’s boutique draws inspiration from The Keeper’s House (a renovated 19th-century townhouse) at The Royal Academy of Arts and, for the first time, will also display original work by artists from RA Editions. An exclusive launch event was hosted at this venue by Ellie Goulding, days before she opened the site at Bicester Village.
“Projects like the British Designers’ Collective are so important”, said Goulding. “We have some incredibly talented, emerging designers and artists in the UK, and it’s great that Bicester Village and the British Fashion Council have collaborated to support and celebrate their work.”
