Top ten summer hats
We’re in the middle of the festival season and the middle of summer, although looking outside you might not think so. However, if you’re thinking of investing in a hat to keep the sun off your “noggin”, check these out.
Fat Face printed floral trilby, £20
A pretty twist on a straw trilby. This gorgeous hat is in a floral print and will look great with a plain vest and shorts.
H&M straw hat, £7.99
This hat is really cute and will work with any nautical-themed outfit.
French Connection linn floppy hat, £39
If you love a large floppy hat, you’ll love this hat. Wear it with a beach dress for maximum effect.
Barbour Wax new trench hat, £35
If you’re trying out a 90s look this summer and going very Britpop with it, think Oasis and Blur, then this could work for you.
Forever 21 felted wool bowler hat, £9.50
This classic bowler hat is a staple festival item this year. The bowler is the perfect way to give uber-modern ensembles a dapper vintage-inspired finish.
John Lewis stripe visor hat, £20
This hat is really unusual – it’s a cross between a wide-brimmed straw hat and a visor. It fastens at the back to give the illusion of being a hat.
Freemans trucker cap, £25
The trucker cap is a staple for the summer. Not everyone can pull them off but they do protect you from the sun. If it looks a bit boring, why not decorate it and make it individual to you?
M&S peak front visor, £9.50
If your head gets too hot with a hat but you need something to shield your eyes, try a visor. Again, not everyone can pull them off but they look great at festivals.
Free People extended brim clipperton, £48
This extended wide-brim wool fedora has a twisted felt band with knot detail. It’s great for a festival if you’re going for a bohemian look. However, this is a hat that you can work in autumn as well.
Miss Selfridge stripe brim fedora, £12.60
This straw fedora has a pink band and black stripe brim. It’s a great piece for a festival or your holidays abroad.
These are just a selection of hats to suit most budgets. You might think hats don’t suit you but there will be at least one you can try.
