Introducing Ji Oh A/W 2014 collection
With more new designers than designs on the scene this season, it takes true talent to create a collection that wows. Cue Ji Oh, a Korean-born fashion prodigy whose 2014 fall collection has caused an international storm. Channelling minimalism, the idea behind the design is for women to “not be defined by their clothes”.
The key colours for the collection are blacks, whites and greys, with a couple of red pieces thrown in for good measure. The blocky shapes and lack of detail support the idea of expression through character, not clothes, yet still manage to exude effortless chic. The theme is very Pierre Cardin circa 1968 with a bit of added androgyny to spin it into the 21st century.
Ultimately, Ji Oh has re-introduced that old school minimalistic style that slips quite easily into anyone’s closet, presenting key pieces that are timeless and versatile – a winning combination! The designer is fast becoming an international success, so watch this space.
