Angelina Jolie’s Versace wedding dress revealed
Following Angelina Jolie’s long-awaited marriage to Brad Pitt last week, extensive details and photographs of the special day have finally emerged.
With much speculation surrounding the designer of the dress, Versace have now claimed credit for the bride’s gown.
“Versace is honoured to announce that on August 23, Angelina Jolie chose to wear a stunning Atelier Versace creation designed by Donatella Versace in occasion of her marriage to Brad Pitt,” read a statement from the brand.
Jolie’s six children played an integral part in the wedding, on their French estate Château Miraval, as their colourful doodles were embroidered on to the bespoke gown.
Jolie, 39, wore a white, silk-satin gown, featuring a fitted bodice with thin straps and ruching across the bust, as seen on the cover of People magazine. The elongated train and silk veil were decorated with replicas of the children’s drawings, hand-embroidered by Luigi Massi, master tailor at Atelier Versace.
Her 50-year-old groom also kept it simple, selecting a black suit from his designer wardrobe, though he had to borrow a tie from one of their sons after forgetting to pack one.
“It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter,” said Pitt. “It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family.”
The intimate nuptials, which feature in this week’s People magazine, in conjunction with the UK’s HELLO!, give an unprecedented glimpse into the private Jolie-Pitt world.
