Monique Lhuillier catwalk show report for NYFW S/S 2015

Friday night of New York Fashion Week was made for Filipino designer Monique Lhuillier. Known for her intricate gowns and wedding dresses, Lhuillier got her big break in 2004 for designing a wedding dress for Britney Spears and even with her fame now, she only has two stores; one near her home in Los Angeles, California which she opened in 2001 and a store in New York City.

Lhuillier had hundreds of fashion bloggers, photographers and fans waiting on line inside of one of the many tents at Lincoln Center to get a glimpse of what she has in store for this upcoming spring/summer.

The collection was the perfect spring dream. Soft music that reminded you of your first taste of cotton candy under the night sky played as models began to walk down the aisle wearing pastel pinks, greens, blues and yellows. The dream continued with plenty of shimmer and magical quilted skirts that whispered elegance. The evening gowns along with many other pieces of the collection included delicate beadings of shimmer, common in many of Lhuillier’s pieces. Lhuillier combined many of her pastels and shimmers with sheer blouses layered over bandeau tops, black long sleeve lace blouses and even some leather and fur and yet, the delicacy of the collection was consistent.

Lhuillier’s intricate gowns are no stranger to the red carpet. Her complex feminine designs have been worn by dozens of celebrities who know that in a Lhuillier, they will be both dainty and confident. Most recently, The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco and television personality Louise Roe opted for Lhuillier gowns for the 66^th Annual Emmy Awards.

At the show on Friday, actresses Sophia Bush, Jamie Chung and Jennifer Morrison attended the show front row with a closer look at all of the elaborate details of all of the looks. Her signature soft designs whisper romance and attract the eyes of all. Lhuillier ended the show with petals of glitter falling not only on the catwalk but on everyone at the show as the finishing touches of the spring dream you didn’t want to wake up from.
