Jean-Pierre Braganza catwalk show report for LFW S/S 2015
With a collection that required plenty of swaying movement, you could say Jean-Pierre Braganza’s SS15 collection is good for two things: dancing at a club and strutting your way to work.
Shoulder pads, intriguing illustration prints, a nod to tailoring and a mainly monochromatic palette limits the places that the majority of the collection can be worn. The work/party vibe, however, is one extremely relevant to the modern woman whose schedule is so busy she needs her wardrobe to go from office to dance floor.
Highlights of the collection were a black jumpsuit with artistically placed sheer panels and a long white waistcoat and black skirt with a daring slit up the back. Hair and make-up were perfectly in keeping with this lifestyle too as the models sauntered down the catwalk with thick, rectangular, black eyeliner, natural complexion and sleek and straight hair.
The atmosphere was on that could go unrivalled from most of today’s shows as club music blared out in the BFC Show Space packed full of famous faces, press, buyers and bloggers. There was no soul in the venue that wasn’t susceptible to the 80s power woman club vibe.
However, one let down was the lack of diversity of models in a show that was in such a spotlight this season. With only one black and asian model amongst a group of a dozen or so, it doesn’t particularly reflect London’s demographic as much as it could.
