Kolchagov Barba catwalk show report for LFW S/S 2015
The end of London Fashion Week’s first day became host to a magnificent presentation by Kolchagov Barba at the elegant Mason House in Central London. The grand, mirrored entrance to the building was followed by an illuminated, marbled bar and grand seating area which played hosted the presentation itself. With the scent of roses filling the air and petals scattered across the room to add to the effect; the collection, entitled Rose Garden was truly portraying its name within the setting.
Inspired the true beauty of flowers, the idea behind the presentation was to create an emotional and sensory experience for the viewer. Using such a vast space for the presentation allowed for the models to showcase the collection for the new season to their full potential.
Walking the full length of the rectangular space, models showcased a range of beautiful pieces, which included laces, silks and embroideries. Linking feminism to their concept of flower design, the fashion duo aimed to empower women through gentle yet powerful pieces. From fairy tale dresses to suit two pieces, the collection did exactly that. Appliqué flowers and diamanté detailing added a touch of elegance to the pieces, and were clashed with opposing garments which revealed whole bodies in a truly romantic manner.
The finale saw a model presenting a bride gown and closed the presentation to hosts of cheers and applause.
A quote from their press realise – “Showcasing a collection of timeless pieces to symbolise the individuality that a rose represents” – describes the Kolchagov Barba collection undoubtably perfectly. It’s safe to say we cannot wait to blossom as a rose with this collection in the spring next year.
