Tak.Ori is bringing customisation back to the table
Italian luxury knitwear labels have always been known for their bright and bold prints, and now Svetlana Taccori is stepping up the knitwear competition by offering a Tak.Ori bespoke service, launching this month.
Customers will have the opportunity to create their own patchwork jumpers using a nifty little online app (pictured below) where the sweater is split into separate sections ready for the customer to drag and drop their desired prints or patterns into each section. It’s going to make for some pretty crazy jumpers, and we can’t wait to spot some blindingly distinguishable Tak.Ori pieces out and about. Who wouldn’t be excited at an opportunity to delve away from the high street trends?
“In a world where everything is available, a truly handmade and bespoke product is very hard to find,” explained founder and creative director, Svetlana Taccori. “A bespoke service places customers at the centre and their desires are being handmade for them.” The sweaters will be priced at £900 a pop, so get saving or start sewing, because there just isn’t another option quite this unique!
Taccori has always been adventurous in her designs, exhibiting an avid passion for luxury knitwear and changing its position in high fashion. Every single Tak.Ori product simply oozes a charisma that is rare in today’s fashion industry, where so many brands play it safe. The brand manifests itself in oversized coatigans, comfy sweaters, two-metre long scarves, double-sided hats and calf-length skirts, all of which are lavishly decorated with personality and charm.
Though wool, despite its versatile nature, is often underrated in terms of making a statement, its texture is half the panache that draws in the likes of Rita Ora and Sarah Jessica Parker to the label. Soft kid-mohair, cashmere and cloud-like virgin wool all play crucial parts in these pieces, playing host to some of the most out-there prints and patterns we’ve seen in a long time.
We were by no means surprised when we discovered that Taccori’s debut collection was snapped up by Browns in London, Colette in Paris, and Moda Operandi in New York, so we were delighted to find that the Tak.Ori A/W 2014 collection will be available on Net-a-Porter and MatchesFashion. No matter how you feel about crazy prints and ballsy patterns, Tak.Ori is most certainly a luxury brand to keep your eye on.
