Introducing 88&Half
88&Half, a newly established women’s bespoke sheepskin and knitwear brand, founded by sisters Olivia and Grace Williams in 2012, is making its mark on the luxury designer scene after fashion knitwear design graduate, Olivia, received much applaud for her final collection at London Graduate Fashion Week, inspiring her to pursue her own label.
The sisters work together using their complementary skills; Olivia’s evidently being in the field of design and Grace’s being the financial and accounting elements of the business, however, both have strong artistic backgrounds and experience, collaborating their knowledge to craft their success. Their inspiration to create sheepskin attire is derived from Olivia’s previous hobby of making and selling sheepskin accessories, allowing her to fund herself throughout the final year of her studies, showcasing her passion and confidence in her creations.
The brand ethos is all about being “proud to be British”, with garments manufactured in Great Britain and delicate and understated design fused with beautiful earth-like colours demonstrating this in its fashion form. Furthermore, the Williams sisters are assuring that the leather produced is in no way associated in the practice of killing animals for fashion but rather a bi-product of meat production – many would agree these positively activist brand ethics are an aspiring move from the young designers.
