Kendall Jenner: the rising face of fashion

Kendall Jenner: the rising face of fashion

It was unveiled just last week that she will be the new face of Estee Lauder, she’s landed herself a role in no other than the coveted Chanel spring 2015 ad campaign and she’s reportedly also landed herself an appearance in the upcoming Marc Jacobs campaign, too.

For a girl of nineteen, the amount of bows Kendall Jenner has strapped to her arrow currently is enviable. And now, to add to the long list of current feats she’s already got under her 23-inch waist belt, Jenner has been named in the Dazed and Confused inaugural Dazed 100, which names “100 cultural renegades changing the face of fashion, film, art and music”. Not only is Jenner part of the list, she’s only gone and nabbed the cover too! Seen emblazoned across three different covers, which are all on sale as of 27th November, we’re amazed at how meteoric Jenner’s rise has been and continue to watch in awe at her fashion takeover.

The covers credit Jenner with “changing the face of fashion,” and they could not be more wrong. All three covers were photographed by Ben Toms and styled by Robbie Spencer. Inside the issue, Dazed Promises, she talks “about her meteoric rise” and, apparently, “silences the haters in a cheeky recreation of the Burn Book scene from Mean Girls.”

Like many of Jenner’s fashion pursuits however, the covers, and accolade she’s been given, have been met with a mixed response. Many have claimed, on the Dazed Instagram page, where the images were first previewed, the claim that she’s “changing the face of fashion” is something of a premature statement, with one commentator even stating, “Surprisingly mainstream for Dazed. I’m disappointed”.

Putting all the negativity aside, the covers have received over 6,000 likes on Instagram and just go to show that, similarly to her sis Kim Kardashian, it’s undeniable and naive to dismiss Jenner, her likeability and the developing brand and reputation she’s creating for herself. We can’t wait to see what the next year holds for our new fave model and are under no illusions that her faithful “momager” Kris is overlooking them all. Team Jenner!
