River Island announces Design Forum collaboration with Jean-Pierre Braganza
Jean-Pierre Braganza has been unveiled as the latest burgeoning designer to collaborate with River Island’s Womenswear Design Forum Initiative. London-based Braganza joins the list of muses who have formerly joined forces with the retail giant, including Eudon Choi, Georgia Hardinge and Katie Eary.
The 11-piece capsule collection for River Island Design Forum S/S 2015 screams classic Braganza; expect his signature style of modern tailoring and drape merged with complex prints. It’s something of a bespoke look which we cannot wait to add to our ever-expanding spring/summer wardrobe.
Braganza drew inspiration for the collection from a trip to India where he noticed similarities between the speed, agility and beauty of a kingfisher bird alongside the sweeping, winding roads of Goa. He notes that he “imagined this girl who has a spirit of a Kingfisher – beautiful, wild, colourful and gone before you even knew she was there”. With this in mind, Braganza’s collection is adorned with the stimulus of kingfishers and comprises of shirtdresses, boiler suits, bomber jackets and zip-embellished jeans.
Landing in stores and online on February 16th 2015, the Jean-Pierre Braganza X River Island Design Forum collection will be available just in time for LFW and is set to launch via a fashion film at the British Fashion Council’s Fashion Film event. Watch this Braganza-licious space!
