Alex Mullins collection presentation | LCM A/W 2015
What do you get when you cross heavily androgynous models, Amish-styled buckle shoes and faces concentrated so intently to the point of scowling that they give even Johnny Rotten (neé John Lydon), a run for his money? Can you guess? Or have you just scrolled up and re-read the name of whom we’re talking about? Yes, that’s right! It’s Alex Mullins, bringing his A/W 2015 collection full throttle to LC:M.
From the loud and proud (indeed, Mullins has previously worked for Kanye West) to the strong yet silent type, this collection appeals to and is all about polar opposites. Featuring a soft yet nonetheless unnerving pink jacket and trouser combination (which The Upcoming secretly love), refined turtlenecks and an exquisitely soft-looking camel coloured coat, Alex’s presentation effortlessly captured everyone’s attention.
Knocking through barriers, Mullins also challenges the unwritten laws of fashion this A/W 2015. Despite the fashion industry yelling for years that, ‘no! One just cannot do double denim!’ this designer has shown that, yes, actually, you can, and successfully at that. In an interview with GQ magazine, he even suggested he likes his denim as he likes his suit: all one colour so it matches. Don’t believe us? Just check out the images below.
