John Lobb collection presentation | LCM A/W 2015
Entering into Old Sessions House, you are met with dry ice covering the grand sandy staircase as you set foot into John Lobb’s autumn/winter 2015 shoe collection. Under the direction of Paula Gerbase, this line develops the brand whilst reserving the classic quality established by Lobb himself.
A sand covering spans across the whole of the venue encouraging the focus of attention to our footing. The main room is set up around a number of screens displaying rural landscapes – rocky pools and waving beaches. With the story of the brand deriving from John Lobb’s walk from Cornwall to London, wearing his handmade boots, we are presented with footwear that is born of craftsmanship and practicability.
Seamless patterned cuts are signature to John Lobb, establishing a heavy quality whilst retaining a delicate finish. Introducing a new style of evening footwear to the collection, the Wells shoe has slip-on functionality and an almond toe, emanating class with ease.
Retailing at around £1,000 for a pair, it is fair to say you wouldn’t find us wandering around the mossy hills in the way exhibited on the screens. We certainly appreciate the idea that you could, but better to save them for the stroll to the pub and opt for walking boots on your treks.
