Baartmans and Siegel collection presentation | LCM A/W 2015
The awesome duo that is Baartmans and Siegel came to LCM 2015 with a bang and didn’t fail to disappoint, with their usual boyish yet edgy signature.
The collection was prevalent with a colour palette rich with black, navy and grey with hints of whites, reds and green.
An unexpected fun explosion of fur was further emphasized with the style of the models’ crimped and blown out hair, the catwalk was graced with perfectly structured fur coats, which command attention but still managed to stay inconspicuous.
Bomber jackets have recently become ubiquitous but B&S managed to give it a subtle and fresh twist with fur lining and some stripes giving it the edge and singling it out from the norm, but still maintaining its usual beloved style and structure
The unique use of fur doesn’t stop with the revamping of bomber jackets but also in the shape of accessories like gloves, stoles and over sized Ushanka hats.
B&S used this collection to reintroduce fur as masculine, androgynous and mostly wearable piece of garment.
There were a series of expertly tailored jackets and coats that were not to be missed, that exuded a cool, calm and effortless.
This collection is exciting, unpretentious and so easy to wear, it definitely has the Baartmans and Siegel stamp all over it and dare I say it an instant success.
