iiJin catwalk show report for NYFW A/W 2015
Newcomer to Lincoln Center, iiJin delivered a full closet in their Fall 2015 collection. Best described as rockstar preppy, this collection featured this season’s signature athletic pieces amongst a sea of houndstooth, checks, and plaid. Both female and male models were styled with sneakers to further convey the idea of casual sportswear.
The womenswear covered a wide range of occasions, everything from joggings pants to evening gowns were offered up by iiJin. Collegiate letterman jackets and tweed skirt-suits were contrasted by leather dresses and slouchy pants. Button up shirts played into both of these urban and preppy themes with colorblocking and mix matching plaids. Towards the end of the show, iiJin offered up some evening looks that featured a bohemian-like embroidery of multi-colored stripes.
The menswear was kept relatively simple, with layering of garments being a key element of their looks. Tweed suits were broken up with printed shirts, and leather jackets were paired with T-shirts and printed pants. The mix matching of patterns was especially successful in the menswear. Since the clothes themselves were pretty traditional and simple, the variety in textiles helped break up these silhouettes in a modern way.
iiJin delivered a very wearable, and style-able collection. Because of the amount of pieces, customers of practically every taste could find something in this collection to wear. Equal parts professional and attitude, iiJin’s collection will easily fit into our sporty closets this fall.
