Marko Mitanovski catwalk show report for LFW A/W 2015
Once again, Marko Mitanovski delivered with his autumn/winter 2015 collection. Known for his outrageous and overly exaggerated style, he proved consistency with his latest vision.
The first model’s entrance was met with a collective gasp from the audience as the elaborate pieces stunned everyone. The all-black ensemble included a corset-style top with hair-covered sleeves, paired with a skin-tight midi skirt in shiny, embellished leather. However, what really captured the attention of the audience was the overemphasised collar – imagine an extreme version of Angelina Jolie in Maleficent, with fringes draping down, completed with the model’s face painted black.
The collection was made up of dark ensembles with the exception of an all-white look which appeared last. An exaggerated collar was common in most of the pieces; all of the items were structured, giving them an ultra-modern, clean look.
What really made Mitanovski stand out was the amount of detail in each and every one of the pieces. From the lace-up trousers to structured jackets and sheer lace jumpsuits, the intricacy required to bring his collection to life is evident.
