The designers dressing Hollywood
With this year’s awards season in full flow, it’s time to look at the big names that are defining red carpet glamour.
Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad is one established designer who has been dressing Hollywood’s biggest names on the red carpet this season. Jennifer Lopez and Chrissy Teigen were two stars dressed by Murad at this year’s Golden Globes in Beverley Hills, California.
Lopez wowed in a nude, jewelled, caped Murad gown that combined a plunging neckline with a thigh-high slit in between the legs, whilst Teigen opted for a more demure Murad gown, in the form of a long-sleeved, floor-length lace dress in a beautiful baby pink shade, which was equally flattering.
American singer/songwriter Katy Perry was another to stun in a shimmering Murad Spring 2015 couture collection backless midi. The high neckline dress was adorned with teardrop-style crystal beads, which she paired with equally sparkly Sophia Webster earrings.
The renowned Atelier Versace is another designer that remains a hot favourite among celebrities at red carpet events, and it is clear why. No other designer dressed as many stars as Donatella Versace during this year’s Golden Globes, including Amy Adams, Kate Hudson, Jessica Chastain and Jane Fonda. Hudson’s classic white plunging Versace gown enhanced her already envious figure with the addition of waist mesh inserts to create an ultra-flattering effect.
Ariana Grande and Gwen Stefani were both wearing custom-made Versace dresses whilst performing at this year’s 57th annual Grammy Awards. Stefani looked flawless in a strapless red gown with daring cut-outs and a thigh-high slit during her performance on the night.
Finally, Monique Lhuillier is continuing to prove why she is so popular on the red carpet. Emma Stone stunned at the Independent Spirit Awards on 21st February in a classic navy lace dress by the designer, which featured cut-outs highlighting her petite waist.
