Victoria Beckham: The latest lookbook

Victoria Beckham: The latest lookbook

Branded “bizarre” and “creepy” by some critics, Victoria Beckham has sparked recent controversy with the latest campaign for her Victoria by Victoria Beckham autumn/winter 2015 collection.

Campaign visuals depict well-dressed, yet lifeless models, with some seemingly unconscious, inspired by the drug-fuelled antics of Kate Moss during the 90s.

Glassy-eyed girls appear to be draped over chairs, slumped backwards, staring at the ceiling or lying on the ground with their eyes closed. Photographer Colin Dodgson, who has worked alongside other high-profile clients such as Karl Lagerfeld and Louis Vuitton, captured the eerie affair with his use of idiosyncratic photography.

Despite the dark and deathly imagery, colours for the collection remain vibrant and strong with pink, electric blue and blood red set against monochrome tones.

The collection features a diverse range of styles including peplum tops, skinny gingham trousers, foil party frocks as well as “tweeds and leathers, which are twisted and played with to create new and modern statements”. The collection is due to be released in July.

The 40-year-old pop-star-turned-designer icon revealed that she envisions her latest collection as “sexy,” adding: “I wanted a new translation of the dress – I wanted a sexy dress. I’m using that word so much today.”
