One step ahead: A/W 2015 collections already appearing on the red carpet

One step ahead: A/W 2015 collections already appearing on the red carpet

Is there anything A-listers don’t have? Fast cars, gorgeous other halves and amazing properties that overlook city skylines come to mind. If these aren’t enough to make you want to hide under the duvet covers and eat copious amounts of Easter eggs then the following picks of our favourite celebrities wearing A/W 2015 pieces now are sure to have you reeling.

Sienna Miller strode down the red carpet of the Academy Awards in February wearing an Oscar de la Renta gown that graced the bittersweet A/W 2015 catwalk in New York a mere four days before. The contrast between its structured frame and intricate bows captures both Peter Copping’s intentions as the newly appointed creative director of the label and Mr de la Renta’s vision of femininity. The lace detail at the bottom of the dress is playful yet elegant and adds depth to its block colour. Sienna’s dramatic smokey-eyed look and sophisticated updo accentuated the de la Renta luxury.

Emma Stone attended the Independent Spirit Awards at Santa Monica Beach wearing a dress from Monique Lhuillier’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. This midnight blue number stood out in the gleaming sunshine, proving that darker tones can speak volumes. The lace bodice and side cut-outs (aspects featured heavily in this line) exude allure. Lhuillier juxtaposes hints of skin with a high neckline that maintains its class. Emma’s striking red bob worn in tousled waves and a hint of bright blue eyeliner complemented the deep shade of the dress.

Taylor Swift opted for a Julien Macdonald A/W 2015 frock to grace the Elle Style Awards a couple of months back. The Welsh designer has stepped away from sequin-embellished pieces that embody a balance between sexy and sophisticated, and Taylor’s choice doesn’t disappoint. The emerald green jewel tone and luxe suede fabric oozes opulence. The mesh inserts and zipper detailing offer a lingerie-inspired look, which is a lot sultrier than Taylor’s previous choices. Her slick hair and vampy winged eyeliner add to this edgy vibe.

These big names have proved that being fashion-forward is the fail-safe way to make a statement on the red carpet. Competition to be crowned best-dressed is fierce but these ladies have ensured they won the title by getting their hands on next season’s finest frocks. If we had the contacts we’d follow in their footsteps but for now, we’re excited to see who else adopts this style move.
