Hair accessories for spring
It is always a thrilling experience to watch fashion week shows and take into account all of the new, fabulous and often quite garish new styles, that we are going to see hitting the shelves in the coming months.
We love checking out the accessories, especially the ones we can pop in our hair, and this spring/summer 2015 our locks are in for a real treat. Think romantic and tousled hair, covered with whimsical, embellished and floral pieces. This season is for the princess inside of us and we cannot wait to spoil ourselves.
Dolce & Gabbana literally painted the Milan runway red this season, with their prominent and signature, bigger-is-better style. Bejewelled crowns, whispers of gold and large floral adornments, were pinned and placed into the model’s low sitting buns. It looks like flower crowns and clips are still on trend and it seems like teaming it with basic hairstyles is the way to go. Let the accessories do the talking!
This season, Fendi made the festival, Coachella- style look, oh so effortless and chic with Native-American vibes, portrayed through leather wrap-around hair ties. The likes of Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner, were seen wearing these throughout the live shows. These hair pieces, simply tied around a low pony or plait, will see you through the festivals this summer – perfect for keeping your hair out of your face, whilst you dance the night away.
The mermaid-esque vibes have been around for a while now and Valentino simply nailed it, with these sea-themed, nautical inspired hair pieces. Beautiful and intricate seashells and starfish, in a gold finish, were seen wound and wrapped into half-up-half-down styles. We love these elegant accessories and they are one of our absolute favourites this season.
Actress Keira Knightley, was seen showing off her baby bump at the Oscars this year. But, surprisingly fans weren’t drawn to her belly, the focus was on her dazzling, Chanel headband. The pink gold and pink opal piece matched her nude make-up and relaxed waves; she looked like an ethereal wood-nymph. We can see this style going huge in summer, with curled hair and pastel floaty dresses.
Rather than going mad with hair accessories this season, Celine showcased the most practical yet unique pieces of the lot. These gold, circular barrettes are perfect for going to work or a casual lunch date. They are very versatile and can be effective in any length of hair. This accessory has been raved about in social media, ever since it hit the catwalk. We are definitely likely to see a whole array of these in the next few months.
