Style file: Kate Middleton’s pregnancy wardrobe
The time has come again when all of us are awaiting with baited breath the arrival of the new royal baby. That’s right, Kate Middleton is about to give birth to a new prince or princess!
Although it’s hard to imagine wanting nothing more than to layer up on baggy clothes during pregnancy, when you are the Duchess of Cambridge, this can prove a little difficult. Instead, Kate managed to make each trimester look trendy and effortless. We’ve seen her dressing in a dignified, regal and feminine way over the past nine months, whilst still managing to maintain her own signature style. We have collected some of our favourite outfits from the second royal pregnancy.
Back in March 2015, Kate wore this polka-dot dress in a classic skater style from Asos. As soon as these pictures were leaked, the dress sold out in under an hour! Worn with bare legs, simple slim- heels and a cute black clutch. This outfit is a perfect outfit for every-day, with the fit being comfortable and not causing any restrictions.
Visiting the Downton Abbey set, Kate looked angelic in this cream-coloured coat by JoJo Maman Bébé. The large buttons take the focus away from the bump and the coat length adds a playful touch to this simple ensemble.
Whilst celebrating Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey in the capital, Kate wore this gorgeous pale pink outfit. The Alexander McQueen coat is no stranger to us as we saw this when the Duchess was first pregnant with Prince George. This time, however, she joined it with a matching fascinator hat and pumps. This outfit is sweet, yet smart, and we just love pastel-based outfits.
Embracing the floral trend here, Kate wore a classy flower-print dress and some navy heels. The dark colours of the dress complemented the print well and with her hair in an up-down do, the Duchess looked effortlessly made-up.
Kate’s red carpet looks are also an inspiration for expecting mothers, just look at how elegant she looked in this floor-length Jenny Packham gown. Arriving in New York, for the 600th year anniversary of St. Andrew’s University, this midnight blue number eluded class and poise and she looked more ladylike than ever.
On her last public appearance before the birth, Kate wore this bright pink coat with black buttons. The Mulberry item was also sold out after being spotted on her. The style is so typical of Kate and we love that she teamed the coat with her favourite black heels.
Were these pink hues a hint that the new baby is going to be a girl? Either way, we can’t wait to see what the new royal will be wearing and we’ll be on the lookout for Kate’s post-pregnancy wardrobe too.
