The best of blue: spring/summer accessories 2015
Changes to soft furnishings or decorative accessories can make subtle differences or refresh the overall look of a room or outdoor space, and statement pieces can tie colour schemes together. Last month’s High Point Market (the high point of the US furniture industry’s calendar) identified four interior trends for 2015: Made in America, Blue, Nature and Metallic.
Patti Johnson of Patti Johnson Interiors forecasted shades of blue complementing colour schemes: “Blue is the colour of the year in furniture and accessories for the home. I see lots of deep and vibrant blue shades ranging from royal indigo to watery azure decorating colour palettes this season.”
Colours typically found in nature – calming blues, greens and neutrals – marry perfectly with brights, metallics and wood finishes. High street brands alongside smaller independent retailers easily combine to make the very best of spring/summer style.
