Kim Kardashian West stars on the cover of Vogue Brazil’s new body issue
We were all shocked when Kim Kardashian West shot from her signature dark locks to platinum blonde, in early March this year. Now she can be seen gracing the cover of Vogue Brazil’s June body issue. This is the E! reality star’s third run at a Vogue cover, having previously been on the front of issues in the US and Australia; with Brazil completing the hat-trick.
This issue seems especially suited to Kim, as her curves are one of the most famous and talked about points worldwide. The Vogue body issue celebrates Kim as the new silhouette on the red carpet and portrays a healthy and positive body image throughout the pages.
Although her blonde stint was only for a matter of weeks, we think this Vogue shoot really captured the evolution of Kim’s hair beautifully. Shot by photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, who features Kim in two separate covers, both released for the same issue.
The first shows Kim, posing on a leopard blanket with what appears as nothing but long, black leather gloves on. We know she said her blonde inspiration was based on a picture of Madonna, but we feel Kim is channelling another star here: Marilyn Monroe. With her hair in retro waves and her eyes painted with thick lashes and lashing of white liner, she looks every bit a 60s star.
The second cover features the 34-year-old in a midriff-baring, black, cropped turtle-neck, with a matching pencil skirt – a look that has become her fashion signature.
“I challenge anyone to try to do everything I do and then tell me whether or not I have talent,” Kim tells the magazine in the interview, alongside the shoot.
