Keira Knightley’s pregnancy style
Known for her love of designers such as Chanel, Valentino and Burberry, Knightley’s red carpet style is always chic and this was no exception throughout her pregnancy. After giving birth to her first child with her Klaxons beau, James Righton last month, we take a look back at her red carpet maternity style.
In the early stages of her pregnancy, Knightley stunned in an off-white Chanel couture gown at a LA screening for The Imitation Game in November last year. Knightley wore a single-pleated short trapeze neoprene and organza dress, which was embroidered with silver, pale pink and transparent stones along the neckline and hem. She completed the look with subtle make-up and a low ponytail.
At the BAFTA New York Presents: In Conversation with Keira Knightley, the actress opted for white yet again in a Holly Fulton dress with a trapeze silhouette, which hung elegantly over her pregnancy figure. The dress was embellished with yellow flowers, making this a simple and chic look for the actress.
Knightley showed hardly any sign of pregnancy as she walked the red carpet at the 2015 Critics Choice Awards in a floor length Delpozo gown. The spring/summer 2015 hushed grey-blue toned dress featured a loose-fitted silhouette with floral embellishments around the bust and a dramatic train.
Showcasing her bump at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January, Knightley looked radiant in a flowing purple lace Erdem dress. The lace dress featured an empire waistline and a sheer panel around the bust, whilst Knightley accessorized the look with a diamond ear cuff, giving the outfit an added edge.
At the Chanel and Charles Finch pre-Oscar dinner, Knightley chose to honour one of her favourite designers, Chanel, in a monochrome tiered dress. The black shiny bodice ended just below the bust whilst three tiers of pleated white chiffon elegantly draped over her blossoming baby bump. Knightley styled her hair in loose waves and chose a classic cat-eye to complete the sophisticated look.
Finally, Knightley stunned on the red carpet at the 2015 Oscars in Valentino spring 2015 couture. The actress adopted a bohemian vibe in the hand-crafted dress, which reportedly took over 3,000 hours to intricately sew. The dress featured a smocked bodice and a wispy layered chiffon skirt, which was embroidered with a series of delicate flowers and phrases. Completing the fairytale look was a pink lip, romantic loose waves and a jewelled headband.
