Isa Arfen catwalk show report for NYFW S/S 2016
A gloomy gray sky in the Meatpacking district of Manhattan grew brighter after Serafina Sama presented her spring/summer 2016 collection in the trendy Standard Hotel. Serafina Sama, the designer behind London-based brand Isa Arfen grew up in Italy. She worked for Chloe, Louis Vuitton, Acne and Charlotte Olympia before she founded Isa Arfen in late 2011. Since her childhood, the designer was surrounded by strong, female characters who influenced her work. Her brand reflects the style, femininity and individuality of her upbringing.
The collection was divided into two parts: it started with military green, black and white light, breezy and clean-cut silhouettes and then flowed effortlessly into bright and bold combinations of colors and feminine dresses with an abundance of ruffles, florals and plaid.
It was a vibrant, modern mix of casual, playful, glamorous and strength. This collection is what classy and trendy women will wear going on vacation or walking around the city on their day off.
To strengthen the mood, the models were handed round bamboo fans and were wearing Charlotte Olympia and sunglasses by General Eyewear.
