Three Floor presentation report for LFW S/S 2016
Since its inception in 2011, Three Floor has been quietly constructing a go-to womenswear label, effortless in its style yet with a reasonable price tag. Already a firm favourite with celebrity clients Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner, the label appeals to women looking for economical and luxury garments. For spring/summer 2016, Three Floor produced a feminine and playful collection employing sportswear materials in order to add to the covet-ability and cool of the pieces.
Held at the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms, formerly a studio creating theatrical backdrops, the presentation began with a full-length lace and embroidered white cotton and chiffon dress with sheer panelling along the shoulders, neck and sleeves, and fringing accentuating the waist and bust. Fabrics were layered over one another, with angular pattern cutting on skirts and cropped trousers. Key colours employed were whites, corals, crisp blues, with glints of florescent yellow and turquoise.
Each model wore Dr Martens cut-out sandals and platforms, harking back to the 90s but in modernist white to add a contemporary feel. Set to be a big trend for spring/ummer 2016, pleats were seen in various forms from tight miniskirts to billowing godets on gowns. Satin georgettes, brushed silks, soft cottons and sheer chiffons were layered with crocheted lace, broderie anglaise and sports mesh creating interesting levels and layers to the garments.
Cut-out detailing was also prevalent on necklines and the pieces were purposefully sculpted around the rib cages, paying homage to sportswear’s ability to shape the form. An imperial blue silk bomber and white trench coat with sports mesh sleeves featured flickers of neon yellow and full-length pleats at the back
This is a nonchalantly pretty, luxuriously affordable collection, which cements Three Floor as the label for cool girls in-the-know.
