Halloween costume ideas for 2015
October is here and you know what that means: you should have started planning your Halloween costume months ago. But in case you didn’t, here is a selection of fantastic fancy dress ideas for 2015.
Left Shark
Who could forget the little left shark that could – or tried at least. During this year’s Super Bowl half-time show Katy Perry danced alongside two sharks. Left shark became an instant internet hit with his fin flapping as he seemed to forget about the existence of any choreography. After the show, the world went on a man hunt to find out who was inside the shark costume. This year, for Halloween, you could be this nautical hero.
Back to the Future
This month Marty McFly will arrive from 1985 to prevent his future family from falling apart. So, time to honour this classic 80s sci-fi and dress in your best red body warmer. Unfortunately we’re still waiting for the hoverboard but you can always make do with a spray-painted skateboard.
Doctor Who
The one television show to offer endless costume possibilities. Will you dress as a companion, one of twelve doctors, or even as the Tardis itself? And that’s only the start because there are also several decades worth of aliens and antagonists. You could go full-blown realistic Ood or keep it simple with a cute Tardis dress.
Star Wars
Speaking of classics, Star Wars, the ultimate sci-fi blockbuster is making a comeback this year so we can expect golden bikinis galore this Halloween. If you’re going for the more modest Leia look you can find a tutorial for her iconic hair buns here.
Vampires versus zombies
Are you a twihard or are you a walker? Vampires and zombies have made a massive comeback with shows like The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead. What side are you going to choose? Seductive and sparkly bloodsucker or gruesome and gory brainmuncher?
Minions
For many people the bane of their 2015 but what would Halloween be without a few tricks? Dressing as a minion can be as simple as a trip to Poundland and stocking up on anything branded with the yellow troublemakers. For the true fan of the films there are dresses and costumes available online but you can make do with a yellow top and a pair of dungarees.
