Fashion East autumn/winter 2016 collection catwalk show for LFW
Truman Brewery founded Fashion East in 2000. They take in and nurture young emerging designers through the difficult early stages of their career.
Fashion East had a number of high-end models walking the catwalk this season, and with the likes of Edie Campbell, Georgia May Jagger and Molly Blair; this show was destined to be big. There were two returning designers: Richard Malone and Caitlin Price and a newcomer, AW Robertson (Amie Robertson).
This runway was Caitlin Price’s debut, she is known for her sports luxe and this is her third season with Fashion East. Her creations showed that autumn/winter trends included block prints and fur stitched onto sport jackets. Her collection was playful as it combined the influence of sports and clubwear, however the colour scheme was simple.
Richard Malone’s collection of creations was influenced by a cool arctic winter; subtle and bold stripes with waves of material. He debuted back in September 2015 for his spring/summer 16 collection and now he’s back creating a chill throughout the catwalk; his creations bold, blue and influenced by the arctic sun. The stripes created an interesting background to the pinafores, dresses and coats that graced the runway.
Combining tailored clothing with delicate jewellery pieces, AW Robertson -Amie Robertson’s collection – showed embroidery is a big statement in this collection. Because of her previous internship with Marc Jacobs, this collection brought dark colours for autumn/winter, which resembled the feeling of Christmas season. Her work is inspiring and combines different colours that one would not think to wear together, and this boldness is why she will go far within the fashion industry.
