Romantic, feminine and nostalgic – three words to sum up Sabinna’s autumn/winter 2016 collection. It was inspired by her grandmother, Ekaterina, and traditional handcrafting techniques she had taught her. These techniques were seen throughout the collection as jacquard flowers, based on Ekaterina’s crochet, decorated accessories, and a print replication of the same design was seen over organza dresses.
Timeless shapes filled the collection, including A-line skirts, chunky knitwear, shearling coats and co-ordinates – all in earthy and neutral shades. Models had a corresponding natural look with loose, tousled locks and minimal make-up. Shoes were flat, durable brogues. They felt like the kind of classic pieces that your mother, or grandmother, might have passed down and that you know will last long enough to pass down to your daughter.
All in all, the collection presented timeless style that is tough enough for a ramble in the woods and powerful enough to evoke your deepest memories.
