Cynthia Rowley spring/summer 2017 collection presentation for NYFW
Feathers, feathers and more feathers. On a sweltering September night, designer, Cynthia Rowley launched a new collection presented through a high end pillow party! Girls were found in vibrant colored dresses paired with floppy hats or oversized cover-ups, appliqués of various sorts carefully placed in the upper and side regions, modeling through a storm of feathers. The tone of the collection resembled a night time/evening wear sensation amidst a few day time pieces–the theme was a sexy casual pillow fight.
Rowley used heavy and bold patterns: stripes, polka dots, and leopard, even, to unite and combine feminine flower designs. Some models were found in loose fitting blouses atop two toned skirts, or fun school girl navy blue sweaters of lime green outlines. The intricate fixations, such as golden buttons of all sizes, completed the sheer ensemble.
The muse of the line, though, an African American woman, wore an eye capturing green, red, and lean flower imprinted gown, which complimented her blossoming natural styled hair. She also embodied the theme, appearing as the hostess of the party if you will, alongside models with other fearless shapes and playful accessories, though some rather intricate addings were a bit difficult to see beyond the flirty veil.
High colors of various shades, sleeves revealing the entire arm down to the cuffing at the wrist were a cool fix for the new collection and with the several looks throughout the line, there is something for every type in Cynthia Rowley’s new creation.
