Öhlin/D spring/summer 2017 collection presentation for NYFW
At the Highline Stages in New York City on September 8th, Öhlin/D showcased their spring-summer 2017 line in a dreamy, garden-like presentation. The man-made garden was an ode to nature, the collection and the brand’s ongoing relationship to sustainability.
Inspired by “natural whimsy and old world beauty” the collection was imaginative, sweet and capricious. The women’s Ready-to-Wear line is a brand new kid on the block, founded only in September of 2013 with great success. Each season, collaboration between Öhlin/D and a new designer creates fresh new collections. Making beautiful clothes and manufacturing consciously is the backbone of the company, and the brand embodies a woman that is effortless, stylish, relaxed and on trend without trying to hard. Their signature was captured beautifully with a white shift dress with a soft framing, pastel colour blocking featured on soft knits and monochromatic dark blue on denim with hardware accents.
The line was awash with whites, dark blues, pastels and chic denim, all coming alive with movement, some with garden-like embellishments of small flowers and climbing vines. The collection is extremely wearable, and will withstand seasons with style, grace and an air of modern romanticism.
The models lounged in the garden next to flowing fountains, glowing with dewy makeup and natural, soft hair. The casual elegance was effortless and dreamy, while being fashion-forward.
An added creative touch to the show and an ode to their commitment to sustainability: show notes created on seed paper that will grow into wildflowers if planted and cared for.
