Dan Liu spring/summer 2017 collection catwalk show for NYFW
Dan Liu captured a trip to Paris with refreshing pastels, simple lines and romantic cocktail dresses (majority of them stopped at knee length). Starting with a small skit set in a Parisian restaurant, Dan Liu covered his models in feminine shapes and soft colours. One of the most memorable shape designs included large rectangles intermixed with circles, forming a third level of shapes and tertiary colours.
The under portion of another dress was made of pink and black horizontal stripes, and came to the knees. As a cover up, on top of the first piece, it was short in the front and long in the back, with horizontal stripes, making the entire dress to look like a weaved basket.

There were limited variations of dresses in this collection outside of the several pattern differences. Some patterns were two toned, or striped with olive green, deep purple and gold, and saturated with multicoloured flowers.
The only gown in the show, the luxury lounger, was black, and sort of sealed the flirty scheme previously presented. The sleeves of the gown flared outwards from the shoulders, and formed a series of laced flower designs in the upper chest area.
During the finale of the show, the designer Dan Liu came out sitting at a small café-styled table while the models walked by him blowing kisses and other romantic innuendos. This was when he completed the lovely theme of your typical day in Paris, along with some of the best options for dining in the city.
