Globe-Trotter spring/summer 2017 collection presentation for LFW
Globe-Trotter is the luxury travel and lifestyle brand currently taking all of our fancies. The new collection was inspired by an extraordinary suitcase that recently found its way into the Globe-Trotter archive. An original 1960s trunk concealing a beautiful collection of over 50 travel stickers from all around the globe, from Rio de Janeiro to Singapore and Tokyo.
The Globe-Trotter suitcases are inspired by simplicity and are designed to satisfy the needs of travelling businessman. The more traditional suitcases feature hand-appliquéd leather patches and sticker linings to evoke the sense of adventure and glamour we experience whilst travelling the world. The brand’s designer, Charlotte Seddon, has taken the familiar trunk one step further by designing with an achromatic approach. The stark white cases in the LFW showroom give a sense of old meets new with the shiny and glitter finishes being completely alien to the 20th century design.
The vintage bag styles continue to be reinterpreted with a more contemporary feel as they are produced in trendy summery tones. We are especially a fan of the pink peony series adding renewed life to older, and much loved sophisticated designs. All in all a bold and nostalgic collection drawing attention to the exciting prospect of travelling the world with a captivating secret concealed within (in the form of a beautiful collection of stickers). Each piece uniquely evokes an element of exotic discovery.
The new Globe-Trotter collection of luggage, bags and accessories, all of which are handcrafted in Hertfordshire, England, will be available in-store and online from February 2017.
