“It’s all about nature taking over,” says Markus Lupfer, as his spring/summer 2017 collection displays a connection with the natural world and a strong sense of individuality.
Models revealed a casual and youthful spirit as they wandered around a meadow full of surprises. Vibrant stripes, graphic florals and playful animal prints – worn together and separately – created an empowering statement, especially with the addition of oversized parkas flung over models’ shoulders.
Femininity was exhibited through ruffled dresses and pleated skirts, with asymmetrical hemlines, in shades of dusky pink and lilac. By way of contrast, outfits comprising dark floral prints and lace were paired with fishnet socks and sandals, creating a grungy aesthetic.
Intricate detailing, including embroidered organza and sparkling beading, brought the broad colour palette to life. Models accessorised with chain belts, metal bracelets and chokers, as well as coloured apple-shaped sunglasses, adding the element of fun that Markus Lupfer is admired for.
