Meagan Ollari spring/summer 2017 collection catwalk show for LFW

As part of Fashion International’s sixth season at London Fashion Week, designer Meagan Ollari debuted her spring 2017 collection beneath the chandeliers of the Amba Charing Cross Hotel.

Entitled The Tulum Desert, the collection featured clothes clearly designed with warmer climates in mind. The first few looks established a strong colour palette that would run throughout the entire show, with fluorescent shades of pink, yellow and turquoise swirling into an abstract print that covered strappy dresses, crop tops and wide trousers.Cut-out detailing at the waist or back added a sensual touch to the otherwise simple silhouettes that gently skimmed the lines of the body. Halter neck tops, sometimes cropped and tied at the waist, were paired with trousers or culottes for a casually sophisticated take on beach dressing. A bright pink vest top and shorts offered a fun alternative to the full-length jumpsuits or dresses that dominated the collection as a whole.The final looks were rendered in a dustier version of the otherwise vibrant palette, with a green and pink stripe running across a white base. In the form of a strappy summer dress or a playsuit with cut-out detailing at the neck, these looks felt perfect for lounging by a pool beneath the sun. The last look, an elegant dress with sparkling black and gold beading at the neck, would work well as a day-to-evening piece. A fun yet sophisticated collection.
