Run spring/summer 2017 collection presentation for LFW
As part of Fashion Scout for London Fashion Week, RUN presented their Spring 2017 collection in Freemasons Hall this afternoon.
Entitled “Lineal”, the collection was an appreciation and cultural admiration of the Hamar Tribe of Ethopia. Taking inspiration from the Tribe’s resourcefulness and their knack for combining western trends with traditional fabrics and jewellery, RUN’s clothes felt visionary, and were imbued with a youthful optimism.Mirroring the Hamar Tribe’s approach to dressing, RUN offered a range that combined the modern and the traditional. A particular highlight was the distinctive reimagining of houndstooth check that ran throughout the collection. In vibrant, almost fluorescent tones of yellow, pink, blue and green, this dynamic print appeared on a selection of dresses, shirts and bomber jackets. Elsewhere, the wide stripes commonly associated with sports jerseys added a neat, masculine edge to the flowing silhouettes and beautifully soft fabrics: silk crepe, silk georgette and viscose jersey. Such a strong print narrative took influence from the colour blocking and beading commonly worn by the Hamar Tribe, whilst the bright colours were intended to evoke their joyfully creative spirit.Silhouettes were tall and slim-fitting, with clean, minimal lines to ground the bright prints in effortless sophistication. A striking set of elegant, wearable clothes that are sure to turn heads for all the right reasons.
