What We Wear by Tinie Tempah autumn/winter 2017 collection catwalk show for LFWM
Tinie Tempah today made his fashion debut at the BFC Show Space, showcasing his new menswear collection for autumn/winter 2017. Previously known for his musical career, Tempah has again recaptured the imaginations of today’s youth in this collection, displaying fashion that is both catwalk and wearable.
Among the collection, Tempah uses a minimal pallet and explores the shapes and styles of classic streetwear to reflect the millennial market. The contradiction of the silken fabric on the traditional 90s sweatpant silhouette demonstrates where the collection blurs the boundary between designer and high street.
Whilst Tempah’s collection certainly appeals to the fashion conscious contemporary man – and it is in this fact that he includes himself – he does not shy from the dramatics of high fashion. As an ambassador for LFW since 2011, and a longstanding urban culture influencer, Tempah pushes the limits of athleisure: using block colour outfits with minimal contrast, the London designer distinguishes and heightens his line away from the reductive label of athletic, wearable clothes.
