Amechi Ihenacho autumn/winter 2017 collection presentation for LFW
Amechi Ihenacho presented their mysterious and lavish AW17 collection at the Durham House for London Fashion Week.
Consisting of generously ruffled cocktail dresses, bodices and flattering bronze-adorned low-cut tops, the Amechi Ihenacho woman is strong and not afraid to live out her dreams of becoming a dark queen. A brilliant, mystic beauty, confident to do what she needs to do.
The collection offered a plethora of hemlines, from mini dresses to more modest pencil skirts to full length gowns. The models had on Cleopatra-esque eyeliner wings which asserted that sense of power and ability to rule, like the eponymous queen who brought prosperity to her kingdom.
The designer had made sure the fabrics payed respect to this opulent woman, giving her a feeling of wealth. They aim to enhance the female form in a way that doesn’t restrict it, but instead emphasises it natural curves. This in itself gives the collection a sense of luxury.
At the presentation, the models were standing around a simplified set that gave emphasis to the elegantly finished garments. With this, each neckline, ruffle and bow got the attention they deserve, as they well well considered to give the garments a unique edge.
