Jayne Pierson autumn/winter 2017 collection presentation for LFW
Pierson’s autumn/winter 2017 SHE collection conceptualised the story of the contemporary, powerful woman who learned from her past experiences in order to create a better self for the future. The silk dresses were accessorised with knotted belts, giving a contradictory, modern and unique look.
Pierson’s pale, blush nudes maxi silk dresses offered a luxurious touch in contrast to the dot tulle urban skirts, white leather multi-coloured airbrushed jackets and oversized cloud-grey suits.
One of the most striking and admired looks was a synthesis of coal-black and misty grey, with tartan high-waist trousers, organza blouse with exaggerated sleeves and a Victorian neck ruffle and a matching tartan jacket. The look was accessorised with a leather cone bra wear on top of the blouse, a suede handbag and over the knee laced boots.
Pierson’s look is about the freedom of expression, making a strong visual statement of the woman’s body. The presentation took place at the Barge House, where the dilapidated backgrounds added contrast to the Pierson’s soft, silk dresses or the fur shaggy cropped jacket and also beard a resemblance to the strapping spirit of the collection. Jayne Pierson managed to create a striking energy while representing the continual improvement of a woman’s self.
