Steventai autumn/winter 2017 collection presentation for LFW

The Seventai’s collection entitled Sleep Now. Work Later, is very minimalist with an indolent feeling of winter stiffness. Teenager models, tangled in sheets and blankets or wearing pillow-leg trousers transmitted a drench of sleepiness, alluring the rest of the world into their cocoon coats, away from the frantic quotidian world.

All Seventai’s looks were either white or beige – but one model was sporting a PJ top and bottoms – both covered in eight-year-old Elifreda’s drawings of sloths hanging from branches of a watercoloured forest, representing the sleepy mood of the collection. The presentation took place at the Durham House, where the models were placed in front of a giant mattress, looking fatigue and lethargy.

The contemporary style pijamas, made out of ribbed fabrics that twist and twirl around the body are representing the comfort zone of procastination, the zone we often like to hide at dawn.

 

Steventai’s ironical collection reminds us that in a chaotic world we still need to relax and it’s alright to be like the mammal Elifreda drew, lulled to sleep amid the forest’ branches.
