Zeynep Kartal showed us layers, but not like we’ve been used to recently. Dresses and evening gowns, layered from the hips down, floated across a runway set up in the Turkish Embassy. The Constance collection was about elegance and had a Great Gatsby feel to it, offering classiness that demands a little fun.
Autumn/winter 2017 was also about empowering femininity through the lens of glamour creating the perfect picture of a femme fatal. Kartal captured the elegance and mystery from the vintage decade of glitz and glamour. Soft shades of rose and lilac contrasted dark emerald, making a strong visual statement on the catwalk, where the classic and modern met.
The silk lilac trousers, the dark grey pussy-bow silk shirt and the faux-fur mink stole were the standout pieces of the collection, as they captured essential elements of the 1920s but with a very relaxed, modern feeling attached.
The warm, luxurious eveningwear included classic tuxedo styles made of velvet, which incorporated the loose, relaxed feeling of loungewear. Zeynep Kartal embodied the effortless feminine look using high quality materials and fabrics, such as silk, organza and handmade lace embellished with delicate appliqués. The sexy appearances created timeless, sophisticated looks where femininity and self-confidence were the focal point.
