Margaret Dabbs Medical Pedicure: Review

Margaret Dabbs Medical Pedicure: Review

Internationally renowned for her innovative foot and hand care treatments, Margaret Dabbs has certainly made her mark on the beauty business. So, we were absolutely delighted to visit her Sole Spa in Liberty London.

Located on the lower ground floor, Sole Spa is a lavish, whitewashed haven, comprising various treatment rooms and a welcoming “chill out” area, with leather recliners and magazines. An extensive menu of treatments is on offer – ranging from French polish to detox baths and reflexology – but we were particularly eager to experience the acclaimed Medical Pedicure.

Sought after by men and women alike, this 45-minute treatment is performed by a fully-qualified podiatrist, who addresses the foot in its entirety. After an initial consultation, we were pleased to sit back with a cup of tea and let the expert proceed. The therapist availed herself of the tools needed to drill, file and buff our feet – in a completely painless manner. Nails were then shaped, buffed and re-hydrated. The result: total revitalisation and overall glow.

Unlike traditional techniques, the Margaret Dabbs pedicure is performed on dry feet, ensuring rough skin and calluses are removed efficiently. What’s more, all tools are one-use only. Blades and filing tips are sealed in packets and thrown away afterwards, so you can rest assured that the procedure is thoroughly hygienic.

We also indulged in a simultaneous manicure, which felt like a triumph in multitasking. This treatment cared for the hands and nails equally, utilising a luxurious scrub, serum and lotion, which shared a wonderful geranium and mandarin fragrance. All of the salon’s products contain the hero ingredient emu oil, which has anti-ageing, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and moisturising properties, leaving skin visibly healthy and super soft.

Deciding on a shade of nail polish was tough as there were so many beautiful colours to choose from. Inspired by English flowers, these treatment-enriched polishes have a carefully constructed formula that promotes health and vitality. We opted for Saffron, and were incredibly impressed with its longevity; our nails lasted several days before any sign of wear.

This clever fusion of health and beauty undoubtedly sets Margaret Dabbs aside from other brands. Those who aren’t keen on the idea of a traditional pedicure, or have specific concerns, will feel completely at ease with the Medical Pedicure, as we are confident these podiatrists have seen it all.
