Things to do to kill time when traveling
Picture this: you have finally got to the stage of checking in your bags at the airport and have your boarding pass issued, you were nice and early as you did not want to get caught up in traffic or have to wait to check in and now your have hours to wait before you can get on your plane. What can you do to while away those hours before you get to your seat.
Hopefully any mobile devices and laptops that are being taken with you are fully charged. This might sound silly but there are quite a few folk that we know that have not done this beforehand.
Firstly, get comfortable. Many airports have great seating arrangements that are also close to a Wi-Fi hotspot, the better airports do not charge for this facility so check to see it this applies to the one you are flying from. If they charge think about sending an email pointing out the fact that not offereing this service is not best practice or good customer care.
For a small fee you could even enjoy one of the deluxe lounges which used to be reserved for the hot shots. These wonderful places usually have great seating, newspapers and magazines, food and yes, free Wi-fi.
Next you can check out your destination again which will give you that extra boost you need to be able to last until you embark. You could even try to learn a few extra words of the language that is used there. This usually goes down well with the locals and can actually make you new friends.
If you happen to have a fear of flying then consider ont of the spas and massage shops that have become a common feature in most international airports. Lie back and let those fears melt away as you pampered with a relaxing back or foot massage, or maybe even treat yourself to a facial before you board so you get on your airplane looking your best after your long wait.
If you are more of a fitness freak then find one of the many fitness gyms on offer (especially in the airport hotels). You can get a pass for the day and make full use of the gyms facilities and some of them are even open 24 hours. If that is not your style and you still feel like your muscles are atrophying then think about taking a walk about the airport to loosen them up.
Just don’t run or else you will be making friends with security!
