Cottweiler featuring Reebok spring/summer 2018 collection catwalk show for LFWM
For the spring/summer 18 collection, avant-garde sportswear label Cottweiler collaborated for the second time with Reebok, creating camping garments with a luxurious touch. The models came out from a Winnebago, presenting monochromatic looks contrasted by bold orange and pistachio green, making you crave a summer adventure.
Cottweiler find once again inspiration in the overlooked banal, with cargo shorts, trackpants, and desert caps as central attractions to the collection. Some catwalk looks such as the one featuring an oversized, fringed, beige shirt and white trousers, accessorised with plastic water containers, gave the impression that the models were prepared to roam through the desert, instead of a London Fashion Week catwalk.
However, Cottweiler’s cultural resonance was still present, as they did not exclude the luxurious details from their collection. Lizard brooches and chokers, covered in aquamarine stones, were a leitmotif throughout the collection, providing a touch of contemporary luxury.
The unusual was combined with a meticulous minimalism, which gave the collection a unique, urban touch. Foil blankets, usually used for warming up the body, were worn as an accessory featuring the same hues of ablaze orange as the strapped trainers designed by Reebok.
The spring/summer 18 collection remained true to the label’s roots, as the emphasis was on sportswear, following functionality and minimalist designs, while it did not fall short of surprising the viewers with its originality and innovation.
