How to wear the athleisure trend

How to wear the athleisure trend

Supermodels, singers and everyday shoppers have all been jumping on board with the athleisure trend. With the athleisure look you can find the perfect balance between casual and fashion. This trend is the perfect option if you’re a fan of active wear but also want to keep it stylish when on the go. And the likes of Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne are notable examples of stars who can successfully incorporate the athleisure into their everyday wardrobe.

But how do you rock the athleisure style without running the risk of looking too sloppy and unkempt? We’ve rounded up the best tips for you to effortlessly pull off this trend.

Pair active wear with on trend staples

The athleisure trend can easily look chic when you pair basic active wear apparel with on trend fashion staples. For example, matching a fitted leather jacket with casual jogging bottoms can elevate the look to the next level.

Make use of accessories

Remember to keep accessories in mind when putting together an athletic-inspired outfit. Sporty attire can always be dressed up with caps, sunglasses, earrings, necklaces and handbags.

Opt for trainers

Give you heels a break by rocking a statement pair of trainers that can add an athletic twist. You can’t go wrong with a classic pair of trainers that work for you. When you combine trainers with skirts and dresses it can instantly give off a cool girl vibe.

Keep the occasion in mind

Athleisure works best when you consider the occasion. Going into work or a professional setting with a toned casual outfit might not be the most appropriate option to go for. However, you can easily dress up street style by layering it with a chic coat or handbag. When you keep the occasion in mind you can adjust your look accordingly to avoid looking underdressed.

Use good quality active wear

Bad quality active wear pieces can really bring down the whole gym-to-street fashion style. If you want to be fashion forward in athleisure it’s a good move to put the see through leggings and misshaped sweatpants aside. When you make use of good quality active wear it can easily polish up an athleisure look.

Athleisure should reflect your personal style

Always keep your personal style in mind when exploring the athleisure trend. Even though you’re wearing active wear pieces doesn’t mean that you can’t reflect your own signature style.
